Shayna Bishop
Veterinary Office Assistant
Hi, my name is Shayna Bishop, and I am a Veterinary Office Assistant (VOA) at Lakewood Veterinary Hospital.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
I like making crafts, reading and thrift fashion. I love being outdoors and I want to learn more about the health benefits of nature and certain plants.
Favorite Part of My Job
My favourite part of my job is being on a team of like-minded people with a shared passion for animal care.
My favourite areas are general and preventative care. I love helping pets stay happy and healthy!
Why I Chose This Profession
I have always loved being around and learning about all kinds of animals. However, I knew for certain that I wanted to work in vet med when my own guinea pig was sick. I saw firsthand the positive impact of knowing the veterinary team cares about you and your pet when going through a tough time with your cuddly companion. I want to provide that support and care to pets and their owners.
Education
I plan to enroll in the RRC Polytech Veterinary Technology program in 2027.
Work History
Before joining the Lakewood Veterinary Hospital team I spent 2 years volunteering with the Pembina Valley Humane Society, as well as some time in the Morden and Winkler veterinary clinics.
