Adriana Barahona
Veterinary Assistant
Hi, my name is Adriana Barahona, and I am a Veterinary Assistant at Lakewood Veterinary Hospital.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
I like reading, thrifting, and I love coffee!
I have two cats: Tokyo, a 2-year-old female short-haired brown tabby, and Vienna, a 1-year-old female black and white medium-haired. Tokyo was a foster fail, and Vienna was a rescue; both enjoy sunbathing, spring toys and running around at 6 am.
Favorite Part of My Job
My favourite parts of the job are working and getting to know all the animals, owners and their stories, as well as the chance to work with people who share my love for animals.
Some of my favourite things about vet care are being able to help and make a difference in the lives of pets and their families, and the opportunity to keep learning about veterinary medicine every day.
Why I Chose This Profession
I chose to work in the veterinary medical field because I love animals.

I graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2025 with a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, after attending from 2020-2025.
Professional Background
I completed Trupanion certification in 2025.
